f8ed5f30c0 nixos/filesystems: Remove default = "auto" from fsType
NixOS has traditionally enabled the `ext` family of file systems by
default. Originally, when switching to systemd initrd, we wanted to
transition to making this explicit so that initrds could be made
without `ext`. The problem is that anyone with `fsType = "auto";` for
an `ext` file system in initrd will fail to boot, which is not really
an acceptable regression as we switch to systemd initrd by default.

By removing `default = "auto"` from `fsType`, we rule out the vast
majority of these regressions as eval errors, since most users of
`fsType = "auto"` for ext file systems are using it because of the
default value.

In hindsight, this is probably what #225352 was really about.

nixosTests.qemu-vm-external-disk-image: fix test
This test uses make-disk-image.nix and uses a bootloader to boot off the
resulting disk image, which requires the NixOS config to be switchable.

4f0dadbf38 treewide: format all inactive Nix files
After final improvements to the official formatter implementation,
this commit now performs the first treewide reformat of Nix files using it.
This is part of the implementation of RFC 166.

Only "inactive" files are reformatted, meaning only files that
aren't being touched by any PR with activity in the past 2 months.
This is to avoid conflicts for PRs that might soon be merged.
Later we can do a full treewide reformat to get the rest,
which should not cause as many conflicts.

A CI check has already been running for some time to ensure that new and
already-formatted files are formatted, so the files being reformatted here
should also stay formatted.

b75a29cb6c nixos/lib/make-disk-image.nix: fix systemd-boot-builder clobbering /homeless-shelter
systemd-boot-builder.py calls nix-env --list-generations which creates
$HOME/.nix-defexpr/channels/nixos if it doesn't exist. This would cause a folder
/homeless-shelter to show up in the final image which in turn breaks nix builds
in the target image if sandboxing is turned off (as /homeless-shelter is never
allowed to exist).

62e95d095d nixos/qemu-vm: optionally disable overriding fileSystems
Allow the user to disable overriding the fileSystems option with
virtualisation.fileSystems by setting
`virtualisation.fileSystems = lib.mkForce { };`.

With this change you can use the qemu-vm module to boot from an external
image that was not produced by the qemu-vm module itself. The user can
now re-use the modularly set fileSystems option instead of having to
reproduce it in virtualisation.fileSystems.
